The Native American Church of the International Center for Spiritual & Ancestral Wisdom (NAC of ICSAW) is an Earth-honoring spiritual community dedicated to preserving ancestral wisdom, supporting sacred ceremonial traditions, and nurturing the relationship between humanity, Creator, Mother Earth, and all living beings.
As part of the broader vision of the International Center for Spiritual & Ancestral Wisdom, the church provides a spiritual foundation for ceremony, education, cultural preservation, and community connection.
Our work is rooted in respect for Indigenous Elders, Wisdom Keepers, and the ancestral traditions that have carried sacred teachings across generations. We recognize that these teachings are living expressions of spiritual relationship, responsibility, and reverence for the Earth.
NAC of ICSAW welcomes those who sincerely seek to deepen their spiritual awareness, honor the sacredness of life, and participate in a community guided by compassion, integrity, gratitude, and service.
Founding Minister | Spiritual Leader | Sacred Medicine Advocate
For decades, Adam Yellowbird DeArmon has dedicated his life to learning from Indigenous Elders, supporting ancestral traditions, bringing people together, and advocating for the preservation and respectful ceremonial use of sacred plant medicines.
His journey has been shaped by relationships with spiritual leaders, traditional knowledge keepers, and Indigenous communities throughout the Americas. Through these experiences, Adam has developed a deep commitment to honoring the wisdom of the ancestors while helping create opportunities for cultural understanding, spiritual education, and meaningful relationships among people of diverse backgrounds.
Adam's work has included organizing gatherings, supporting sacred ceremonies, advocating for religious freedom, and encouraging dialogue between Indigenous communities and contemporary society.
Central to his vision is the understanding that humanity's relationship with the Earth is sacred and that ancestral wisdom offers important guidance for restoring balance, compassion, and responsibility in our lives.
For more than two decades, Adam has devoted significant attention to the cultivation, propagation, and preservation of peyote, a sacred cactus holding profound spiritual and cultural significance within Native American religious traditions.
His preservation work reflects a commitment to protecting vulnerable sacred plants, respecting their natural growth cycles, and supporting the continuation of the traditions associated with them.
Adam recognizes that preserving sacred medicines involves more than protecting individual plants. It also means honoring the Indigenous communities, ancestral knowledge, ceremonial responsibilities, and sacred relationships that give these medicines their spiritual significance.
Through education, advocacy, and responsible stewardship, he continues working toward a future in which sacred plants and the traditions surrounding them are respected and protected for generations to come.
Adam's commitment to sacred medicine preservation has also brought him into direct contact with the complexities of religious freedom and the legal recognition of traditional plant medicine practices.
Following a law enforcement raid involving his peyote cultivation and preservation work, Adam faced several years of legal proceedings and significant personal and financial hardship.
According to Adam's account, all state charges against him were dismissed on September 1, 2023, and confiscated plants were subsequently returned.
The experience reinforced his commitment to advocating for greater understanding of Indigenous spiritual traditions, religious freedom, and the responsibilities associated with sacred plant medicines.
His advocacy emphasizes respectful communication, education, and cooperation among spiritual communities, government authorities, and those seeking to understand the cultural and religious significance of these traditions.
Adam continues to support awareness of religious freedom protections while encouraging responsible practices consistent with applicable laws and the teachings of the traditions being honored.
Throughout his journey, Adam has worked to bring people together through ceremony, spiritual dialogue, cultural exchange, and community gatherings.
His approach recognizes that each person's spiritual journey is unique and that meaningful transformation often begins with listening, reflection, and reconnection with the sacredness of life.
Through personal consultations, ceremonial preparation, educational resources, and connections with experienced spiritual leaders, Adam seeks to support individuals exploring ancestral wisdom, spiritual growth, and responsible relationships with sacred traditions.
His work emphasizes preparation, personal responsibility, integration, and respect for the physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of ceremonial participation.
NAC of ICSAW carries forward a vision rooted in unity, spiritual responsibility, cultural preservation, and service to future generations.
We envision a world in which Indigenous and ancestral wisdom is respected, sacred traditions are honored, religious freedom is protected, and humanity remembers its place within the interconnected web of life.
Through relationships with Elders and Wisdom Keepers, sacred ceremony, education, preservation, and community gatherings, we seek to nurture understanding across cultures and generations.
Our purpose extends beyond any one individual or tradition. It is a shared commitment to walking together with reverence for Creator, gratitude for Mother Earth, respect for one another, and responsibility for the generations yet to come.
All Our Relations.
